I joined APT for several reasons. First, I was excited about the opportunity to work at a small, growing company. While there are benefits to being part of a large, established company, I much prefer the challenges, opportunities, and rewards that come with being part of an entrepreneurial organization like APT. Having the opportunity to work for a company that is pioneering a new method of business analysis is extremely exciting for me.
In addition to the entrepreneurial culture, the variety of project work offered an appealing change from my past jobs. At APT, we get to work with clients in many different industries. My first two projects were with a leading management company in the assisted living industry and a major specialty retailer. I also work with some financial institutions, consumer goods manufacturers, and other Fortune 500 companies. This variety means I am always solving new problems and learning about new industries. The constant challenges afforded by my role here assure that work is always stimulating and interesting. That is exactly what I want from my job.
As important as the first two qualities were in deciding to join the team at APT, the overriding reason I came here is because of the amazing collection of brilliant individuals I met while interviewing here. Everyone at APT is extremely intelligent, funny and very friendly. I could sense that the organization was special as I progressed through the recruiting process and always met new people who were personable, articulate, and extremely helpful. When everyone from the CEO on down was willing to take as much time as was needed to answer my questions about the organization, I knew that I had found a company with a deep passion and commitment to its people.
My days are usually a mix of analysis, technology, and project management work. Shortly after starting at APT, I was assigned to two new client teams and split my time between both. Some days I am engrossed in analysis while others are spent writing queries or testing our software. Usually, my day is filled with some combination of those activities, while also spending time plotting out the next steps for each of the projects I am staffed on.
I love sports, both watching and playing them. In addition, I spend too much time obsessing over fantasy baseball, basketball, and football (continuing the sports theme). When not engrossed in something sports (or APT) related, I’m usually either spending time with friends in DC (the greatest city in the world), reading or going to the gym (occasionally I’m doing all three at once, but that’s pretty rare).
