Why APT?

I chose APT for three reasons – small company atmosphere, staffing on multiple clients, and challenging analytics.

When going through my job search I found applying to larger companies to be impersonal and frustrating. Having put a lot blood, sweat, and tears into my work in college it was frustrating to be treated like a number. Upon applying to APT, I immediately had people calling me on the phone eager to teach me about APT, hear about my experiences, and discuss how I might fit in at the company. I could tell I would be valued and have a real impact on the company.

My internship experience was all in construction management. Working on a construction site, I was always juggling several responsibilities staying busy and engaged. I loved this, but was upset that I was not flexing my analytical muscles. APT offered exactly what I loved about that work and also gave me what I was missing. Being staffed on multiple clients keeps me on my toes and interested. It can be difficult balancing all of the responsibilities, but I couldn’t imagine myself working on the same project for months on end. I’m also wracking my brain working to solve all of the unique analytical problems I face every day.

Daily Responsibilities:

Each day I need to effectively juggle several responsibilities. Firstly, I need to be responsive to clients, helping them leverage APTs software and partnering with them on the analyses they are working on. I’m also focusing on my own analysis generally needed for a pilot project I am on. This is generally a complex analysis often pushing the limits of our software’s capabilities. At times I encounter problems that can’t solved within the framework of our Test & Learn tool, so I’m required to develop solutions then work with our product management team to integrate my solution into our software.

I’m also responsible for the integration of my client’s data into our servers, training new users, recruiting at UVA and other universities, mentoring new APT hires, planning social events, and more.

Outside of APT:

Outside of work I enjoy performing stand up comedy around DC, weight lifting, bar tending, and traveling.
