Why APT?
As a graduate student in economics, I was bothered by the seeming inability of economic theory to explain the economic realities of today. While I enjoyed the intellectual questions and rigor of the subject, I hoped to find a useful way to apply math and statistics outside of the ivory tower. APT allows me to work with and analyze data from some of the world’s largest companies. The firm’s small size and unique combination of software engineering and business consulting provide opportunities to gain business experience without sacrificing the ability to work in more technical areas. My job encompasses everything from meeting with our client’s senior executives to interpreting results to writing code. Most importantly, I am able to see the results from my efforts as our clients optimize their business strategies based solid, statistically-significant evidence.
