Why APT?
After spending years in college and graduate schools learning abstract economic models that attempt to explain human decision making, I discovered my true passion in solving real world problems with concrete data. As much as I appreciated the elegance and rigor of the academic world, I was more attracted by the idea of solving business problems that could mean millions of dollars for a company. APT offers me the opportunity to do exactly that. With a large number of clients spanning several different industries, many of whom have well-known brand names, I could see myself delivering big impacts while working for APT. APT’s unique blend of business and technology also matches well with my background in Industrial Engineering. Finally, the many intelligent and friendly people that I met during the interview process and the fun working environment of the company convinced me that I will have a great time working at APT.

Daily Responsibilities
The type of work I do somewhat varies from client to client. For new projects, there’s a large amount of analysis and day-to-day client interactions. For clients who have just purchased a license for APT’s software, a fair amount of work is required to establish regular data transfer and maintain the database. For experienced clients who have been using APT for a while, my role is mainly supporting their analysis and helping them create values using APT.

Outside of Work
I enjoy hiking with my wife during the weekends. There are several pretty interesting trails near the DC Metro Area, and the Shenandoah is just a short drive away. When the weather is nice, you may find me juggling in the Quincy Park – still honing my skills but I hope to perform on a stage some day. At home, I like studying recipes and cooking some real authentic Shanghainese food, with varying degrees of success so far.
