Why APT?
As a Computer Science major, I knew that I wanted to work somewhere that understood and harnessed the power of technology. I also wanted a job that would allow me to apply the kind of analytical skills I learned in my CS courses to new types of problems. APT combined those needs perfectly, allowing me to continue to be immersed in the technological realm, while also learning and working with a variety of businesses. APT's approach to problem solving is exciting in that it incorporates lots of data and allows you to ask (and answer!) questions that at first seem almost impossible.
The atmosphere at APT was also a huge draw. I like the emphasis on working in teams, with small teams taking on huge responsibilities with large, international clients. The focus on long-term relationships with clients means that I'll continue to work in different industries at the same time instead of hopping from one to another. The people all share the drive to work hard and solve big problems while understanding the joys of having foosball and gummy bears always available.
Outside of Work
I'm still new to the DC area, so I'm looking forward to exploring all of the typical things DC has to offer. Also on the agenda are cooking and baking a lot (new project: make my own lunch meat), playing tennis and golf (neither particularly well), and getting back onto the DC stand-up circuit after a summer on it two years ago.
