The talent of APT's Engineers is the foundation of its success. We target recent graduates from college campuses and experienced programmers and designers.
APT invests significant time and resources to find and attract exceptional individuals. Each fall, we recruit students from some of the leading universities where we have long-standing relationships. Students should apply through the school's career services website and selected students will be interviewed on campus. More experienced/lateral hires should apply directly through our website.
This topic is complex and can be subject to interpretation. As engineers, that prompted us to seek clearer specifications and led us to develop the following questionnaire:
How well do you and math get along?
You haven't been on speaking terms since elementary school
It's complicated
You appreciate the beauty of math well-applied
You and math are already discussing the distribution of answers to this questionnaire
What do you think about technology?
It is the root of all evil
It's really, really complicated
Both A and B
It captures the essence of the human spirit, while also enabling my StarCraft II addiction
Do you have any interest in business?
It is the stem attached to the root of all evil
None of your business
First, I need to send this to 10 of my friends
So a businessman, my future, and APT walk into an interview...
Describe your ideal work environment.
Somewhere close to a well-stocked kitchen, a library of fantasy books, a Wii, and a foosball table
Small, self-organized teams
Large monitors, solid-state hard-drives and complete freedom in how I set up my workstation
All of the above
How do you spend your free time?
Running ultra-marathons
Comparing chess and StarCraft II openings
Reading XKCD
Constructing human pyramids after kickball games
What do you look for in a company?
A brilliant future
Endless opportunities to learn
Constant new challenges
All of the above and coworkers with perfect scores on this questionnaire
If you correctly inferred the right answers to all of the questions, congratulations! You have already demonstrated the valuable ability to decipher open-ended specs.
