Why APT?

I love many things about being part of APT: talented peers, quirky community, innovative projects, technical challenges, rapid development, personal impact, client interaction, and global insights. Each release cycle teaches me new things about technology, engineering, analysis, management, communication, and business. When I left MIT, I set a personal goal to continue learning at the same rate in the professional world. Being an engineer at APT has never let me down.

Daily responsibilities:

Being an engineer at APT offers such a wealth of challenging opportunities that my daily responsibilities change on a weekly basis. Most of the time, I am working on developing a new feature or enhancement for one of our principal products. That could mean devising an intuitive way for a user to understand and interact with a four-dimensional space, optimizing database structures and interactions, or writing algorithms. I also provide active support for one of our brand new products, which involves an exciting mix of dynamic development, product management, and client interaction.

Outside of work:

I am somewhat of a chocophile (a vice I share with Renee). Lately, I have been trying as many different bars with cocoa nibs or 100% cocoa content as I can. The current winners are definitely Claudio Corallo’s 73% cacao with cacao nibs and Francois Pralus’ Madagascar 100% bar. When I feel guilty about eating too much chocolate, I go rock climbing, rollerblading, or hiking. Some of my other hobbies include strategy games, science fiction, poi, and contact juggling.
