Why APT?

Unlike many people who join APT straight out of school I have made a number of stops along the way prior to joining APT. I’ve worked with a young start-up company, huge companies, as well as the Federal Government. All of these previous opportunities helped me grow professionally but they also helped me learn what was important to me when looking for a new position. I knew that I wanted to work in an environment where I’d be exposed to challenging problems and where I’d be surrounded with other intelligent people. One of the things that separates APT from everywhere else that I’ve worked is that while many companies are full of intelligent people, APT is full of intelligent people who are dedicated, work towards the same goal, and take pride in what they do. The combination of intelligent people, along with these traits, results in a highly rewarding work environment.

Daily Responsibilities:

The daily responsibilities of a Database Analyst vary significantly. One day you may find yourself loading a new clients data, trying to understand what the data means and how we need to load it. The next you may be creating new stored procedures that will be used to help Business Consultants load data more easily. We work with the software engineers to ensure that we create tools that work with the many new features that are constantly being developed. The Database Analyst is also highly involved with data accuracy and validity, creating automated processes to search for data anomalies and database setup issues.

Outside of Work:

When I’m not in the office I love to relax with my wife and our two dogs. We enjoy movies, random trashy television shows, and hockey (well, perhaps I enjoy hockey more than she does).
