After spending four years pursuing both mathematics and computer science at Carnegie Mellon University, I did not want a career that focused on just one of my two interests. At an APT recruiting dinner, I told someone that I loved the theoretical aspects of computer science. Within seconds, I was introduced to an employee who eagerly shared the extent of math that she uses in her projects. To be honest, I hadn’t seen that much happiness and passion at any other company during my job search. I just really wanted to be part of it.
