Before starting with APT, I did design work for a DC area newspaper. I chose APT because it offered me the opportunity not only to be creative, but also to express that creativity through a variety of outlets, rather than just print work. At APT, I develop designs for everything from print collateral to our website to our blogs to trade show giveaways. I love that I am kept very busy at APT and that what I do changes on a daily basis. I also really enjoy the people that I work with. Everyone works hard but also has a sense of humor, which makes work fun!
My daily responsibilities are multi-faceted and change daily, as I get to do design work on a variety of materials for a variety of different departments within the company. I design APT’s printed materials, for instance our marketing collateral – like our white papers, corporate profiles, and trade show brochures - as well as recruiting materials, for instance fliers, banners, and posters. I also get to do a lot digital work, like maintaining our website, designing digital invitations or cards, and developing layouts for our blogs. On an average day, I might update a white paper, tweak a banner design for an APT ad, design a t-shirt for a new software release event, and develop an invitation for a regional dinner.
Outside of work, I love cooking, painting, and traveling. I also enjoy sightseeing at all of DC’s awesome attractions and museums.
