Why APT?
Struggling to decide between a career in consulting or software engineering, APT’s APM position became the perfect answer. APT’s unique combination of business analytics and technology strongly appealed to me. I work with the consulting team and also remain well-connected to the software development process. APT is a small, rapidly growing company, enabling me to work in a high-impact environment. I am already driving the future of the product early in my career. Add in the fun and brilliant people who work at APT, and the decision was easy.
Daily Responsibilities:
As an APM, I am constantly partnering with people across all areas of the company. I team with business consultants to understand the most pressing business issues across many industries. I can then I collaborate with engineers to design features which solve these tough problems. Together, we determine the most appropriate solution, implement it, and get feedback on how well we’ve answered the question.
As a product management team, we guide the future of the product by prioritizing upcoming development, a unique responsibility early on in my career. With the diversity of my work and constant interaction with consultants and engineers, my day flies by.
Outside of Work:
I like to stay active outside of work by running and playing tennis. Recently, I have begun training for a half marathon (ambitious goal!). I also enjoy exploring all that the DC area has to offer with my friends. We go out to eat at awesome restaurants and try out all of the great happy hour spots and bars. When there is a football game, I head back to UVA for the weekend and relive my college experience.
